#ShayMustStay – Calling ALL FARRELS

“A struggle for power and control set in the rugged and mysterious hills of Appalachia, ‘Outsiders’ tells the story of the Farrell clan, a family of outsiders who’ve been in these parts since before anyone can remember. Living off the grid and above the law on their mountaintop homestead, they’ll protect their world and defend their way of life using any means necessary.” – WGN America

Outsiders on WGN has been cancelled.

“But MJ, they cancel shows all the time for poor ratings.”

That’s not what’s happening here.

They’re cancelling it to make room for more diverse shows.  At first glance that may make sense, but this show is completely about diversity.  The townspeople vs. the mountain people.  Sally-Anne and Hasil’s completely color-blind love.  Butch and Frida.  That’s just a few.

This show has fans from every walk of life.  And if you go on Twitter on any given Tuesday night when Outsiders is on, you’ll see that we’re a family.  We’re all rooting for the same things, and even if we aren’t?  We’re still rooting for each other.

Now if you go on Twitter and search the hashtag #ShayMustStay, you’ll see us.  Loud and proud, fighting for our family.  It’s not just a TV show, it’s a movement.  It doesn’t matter how we feel about a character, we love the actors and we’re all in it to bring them back to our screens.

We’re begging Sony to find them a new home.  Their story isn’t done.  The cast and crew, the fans, we all deserve better than this.

This is my plea.  Go sign this petition.  Help us fight for our place on the mountain.

We are united or we perish.
